Family Time

August 24, 2010

Today I am linking up with Table Top Tuesday and I just wanted to, instead of showing my table top, talk about what happens around it.

This past week has been an especially fun time for us. On Saturday, D had his first football game of the season and made 9 tackles! Later that day, my mother came over to join us for some special hang out time, during which a game of Pay Day was enjoyed. I would like to note that this Pay Day game was my mother’s and I ended up with it. I just love the graphics though! She believes she got it either in the late 70’s or early 80’s.

On Sunday, we got to sit down for breakfast together and enjoyed some yummy Homestead Biscuits with Crockpot Apple Butter”! A very happy morning indeed!

And finally, we got D’s advanced reading report stating that he is reading almost 3 years ahead of his grade level! So of course we made cake!!!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Tuesday!

Wow 3 grade levels ahead is a great accomplishment! I love to hear about kids who like to read. It really is an important habit.

Yes, I was so stinking proud I just couldn’t stand myself! We knew that he was ahead, but not that far ahead! All the women in my family have placed a high value on books and passed that love down through the generations.
